Mentizo Privacy Policy
Effective date: 25 July 2026
Contact: mentizo@b-bos.nl
Mentizo is a brain-training game for Android. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The short version: you play anonymously, we collect gameplay statistics to balance the games' difficulty, and we don't sell or share your data with anyone.
Who is responsible
Mentizo is operated by Bernard Bos, an individual developer based in the Netherlands ("we"). We are the data controller for the data described below.
What we collect
We do not ask for your name, email address, or any account registration.
When you use Mentizo, we collect:
| Data | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous player ID | A random identifier created on first launch, not linked to your identity | To store your points, best scores and daily streak |
| Gameplay data | Which game you played, its difficulty class, the outcome (solved / failed / timed out), and how long you needed | To measure whether games are correctly classified as easy or hard, and to improve them |
| Time zone | Your device's time zone name (e.g. Europe/Amsterdam) | To count your daily streak correctly in your local day |
| Basic technical data | App version, device model, OS version, crash reports | To fix bugs and keep the app working |
We do not collect: your name, email, contacts, location, photos, files, advertising identifiers, or anything from other apps.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your data with third parties for their own purposes.
- We do not show ads in the current version of Mentizo.
- We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on servers in the European Union and encrypted in transit (TLS).
How long we keep it
Gameplay data is kept while your anonymous profile exists. If you delete your data (see below), gameplay records are permanently disconnected from your identifier and retained only as anonymous statistics that can no longer be linked to you or your device.
Your rights and controls
- Delete your data: in the app, go to Settings → Delete my data. This permanently removes your anonymous profile, points, streak and stats. Deletion is also available via mentizo.b-bos.nl/delete.
- Reinstalling or clearing app data also disconnects you from your previous anonymous profile — we have no way to restore it, because we don't know who you are.
- Under the GDPR you additionally have the rights of access, rectification, portability, restriction and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in the Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). Contact us at the address above to exercise them.
- Legal basis (GDPR art. 6): performance of the service you request (storing your scores and streak) and our legitimate interest in balancing game difficulty and fixing defects — using the minimum data possible, anonymously.
Children
Mentizo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; since play is anonymous, we ask parents and guardians to supervise app installation.
Notifications
The daily streak reminder is optional, off by default, and scheduled locally on your device. It requires the Android notification permission, which you can revoke at any time in system settings.
Future features
Later versions of Mentizo will add optional accounts, competitions with other players, optional rewarded ads and in-app purchases. Each of these changes what data is handled — this policy will be updated before any such feature launches, and the in-app policy link always shows the current version.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app.
